An article written by Dickinson State University (DSU) faculty member Mr. Kevin Moberg has been published in the summer 2020 issue of ATEG Journal, the peer-reviewed journal of the Assembly for the Teaching of English Grammar.
In his article, “Cleft Sentences as Focusing Tools in Writing,” Moberg writes about cleft structures as sentence variations that writers can employ strategically when they want to move a certain idea in a sentence into a position of emphasis. Moberg’s journal article offers writing teachers an approach for helping students use grammar knowledge purposefully to accomplish particular goals in their writing.
At DSU, Moberg is an assistant professor of English and education and teaches courses on writing, grammar and teaching methods.
