Over 50 DSU students present research at 2022 Celebration of Scholars
Fifty-eight Dickinson State University (DSU) students presented their achievements in research, humanities, and the arts during the 2022 Celebration of Scholars event Saturday, April 30, at the Biesiot Activities Center and DSU Agriculture Building on the DSU campus. Students presented their scholarly work to an audience of peers, faculty, and community members through either an oral or poster presentation.

Jundong Chen promoted to IEEE Senior Member
Jundong Chen, DSU associate professor of computer science, was elevated to the prestigious grade of IEEE Senior Member. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted voice for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.
To be eligible for this honor, candidates must: be engineers, scientists, educators, technical executives, or originators in IEEE-designated fields; have experience reflecting professional maturity; have been in professional practice for at least ten years; and show significant performance over a period of at least five of their years in professional practice.

Niles Haich named director of DSU’s Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program
Dickinson State University (DSU) is building a five-year plan for the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program (TRHLP). Part of that plan was to bring in a recognized Roosevelt scholar, which was accomplished when Stacy Cordery agreed to serve as the Dennis & Vaune Johnson endowed chair for Theodore Roosevelt honors leadership studies and the director of the TRHLP for one academic year.

DSU faculty Brent Rogers, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and associate professor of music, and his wife, Kelsey, adjunct instructor of voice, attended and presented at the Saint-Saëns Across Borders conference Feb. 3-5, 2022. This conference was held virtually and focused on the research of the famous French composer, Camille Saint-Saëns.

Theodore Roosevelt Center and DSU see the end of an era and the start of tremendous opportunities

For more than 20 years, DSU has embraced the vision of former DSU president Lee A. Vickers and public intellectual Clay Jenkinson to showcase the impact southwest North Dakota made on young Theodore Roosevelt. One of the ways the university chose to do this was by creating a digital research and archive facility devoted solely to Theodore Roosevelt, DSU’s Theodore Roosevelt Center (TR Center).
