In May, we held DSU’s first outdoor graduation. The weather was almost perfect, though a bit on the hot side for those in academic robes. The Class of 2021 demonstrated guts and grit by persevering through the many changes the pandemic forced upon us.

Dickinson State University’s (DSU) President Steve Easton, in conjunction with Dickinson High School (DHS) Principal Kevin Hoherz, was selected to receive the #InnovativeND Award for System Transformation for his efforts toward revolutionizing education in Southwest North Dakota. State Governor Doug Burgum presented the award to Easton and Hoherz during the fifth annual Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education held at the Bismarck Event Center Monday, June 7, 2021.

Both are Dickinson natives who graduated from DSU Saturday, May 15, Dobitz with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and McDaniel with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Dickinson State University’s (DSU) innovative education has become more affordable for students through a tuition program approved by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) during a meeting held Thursday, May 27, 2021. The program details a “New North Dakotan” undergraduate tuition rate for students in 21 states and Canadian provinces.
