Annika G. Plummer, administrative secretary for Dickinson State University’s (DSU) agriculture and technical studies department, graduated from the Rural Leadership North Dakota program as a member of Class VIII Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.

Rural Leadership North Dakota is an 18-month dynamic leadership development program designed for men and women who are dedicated to strengthening the agriculture community, their community, and the state of North Dakota for the future. The mission of the Rural Leadership North Dakota program is to “prepare and develop effective leaders to strengthen rural North Dakota.”

Class VIII traveled within North Dakota to Bismarck, Bottineau, Bowman, Fargo, Grand Forks, and Watford City to learn about leadership and community development. A regional seminar in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a national seminar in Washington, D.C., and an international seminar in Chile (Santiago, Valparaiso and Temuco) rounded out Class VIII’s travels. The traveling allowed participants to learn about political engagement, working with both local, state and national officials; culture; trade and domestic and foreign policies. Class VIII also learned about the DiSC behavioral styles, emotional intelligence, crucial conversations and more.

Dickinson State University sponsored Plummer’s tuition for the program. Congratulations to Plummer on her achievement!
