DSU’s annual spring concert to take place May 41 min read

April 20, 2021

The Dickinson State University (DSU) Concert Band will perform their annual spring concert Tuesday, May 4. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. MDT in Dorothy Stickney Auditorium, which is located on campus in May Hall.

Dr. Brian Holder, adjunct instructor of band and percussion at DSU, explained, “This concert will highlight the accomplishments and talents of our students at DSU. Senior music education major Morgan Hutzenbiler will perform a marimba concerto with the band, the band will perform a new work by Jack Stamp, and we will feature the music of Samuel Hazo, Francis McBeth and other wind band composers.” According to Holder, “We have been so lucky to continue performing live music during this academic year, and we hope that the Dickinson community will join us for this final band concert of the semester.”

Campus and community members are invited to attend this free event. Concert attendees must wear face coverings unless they have received a campus-wide mask mandate exemption from DSU, which can be obtained in the Office of Academic Records in May Hall Room 111 during business hours.

Music programs and activities, including the DSU Concert Band, are housed in the Department of Arts and Letters at Dickinson State University. For questions about this event, please contact Dr. Brian Holder at brian.holder@dickinsonstate.edu.
