Shoes making, dancing elves, sneezing and even a little romance, can all be seen within the theater production of “The Elves and the Shoemaker” by Noah Smith.

Dickinson State University is putting on its annual children’s show with a cast dominated by children as the elves.

In the play, there are some adults like Cole Beck, a student at DSU, as well as some Dickinson High School students.

Joining the production on and off stage are the Mills brothers that attend Dickinson High School. Gage Mills is the stage manager and is running a tight ship, which is a must with a young cast. His brother Issac is playing the villain, Omnivereaux, which is a new type of role for him.

“The kids are fairly good, keeping them quiet is the big thing but It’s nice that they are finding their love for theater at such a young age,” Issac Mills said. “The advice I give them is to have energy and get a character out there, have fun with it.”
