Portrait of Ornatops incantatus by Paleoartist Brian Engh and the Western Science Center. The name Ornatops incantatus comes from a combination of Greek and Latin words meaning “enchanted ornate face.” This combination references the dinosaur’s skull and where it was found: New Mexico, or “the Land of Enchantment.”

A research paper naming a new species of dinosaur co-authored by Dr. Elizabeth Freedman Fowler, assistant professor of biology at Dickinson State University (DSU), was recently published in PeerJ, an open-access scientific journal.
