Javonte Oliphant and Jade Boote crowned 2020 Homecoming King and Queen1 min read

Dickinson State University (DSU) students Javonte Oliphant and Jade Boote were crowned 2020 Homecoming King and Queen during coronation at halftime of Saturday’s home football game Oct. 10.

Javonte “Smokey” Oliphant is from Trinity, Texas, and was nominated by the residence life staff at DSU. He participates in track and football at DSU and is a member of the student professional residence life staff. He also volunteers with the Student Opportunities and Resource Center. After graduation, Oliphant plans to pursue a career in coaching and aspires to lead an athletic department one day.

Jade Boote is from Binford, North Dakota, and was nominated by the Student Education Association at DSU for which she serves as president. Boote is captain of the rodeo team, serves on the rodeo council, and is a student representative on “The Heritage” magazine committee. After graduation, she plans to teach for a few years before pursuing a master’s degree in educational leadership.
