Eighteen students have been nominated by their respective departments for Dickinson State University’s (DSU) 2020 Outstanding Graduate Award. This award is the highest honor bestowed on graduating seniors by the University.

Tell us a little about your lives before you came to Dickinson State University (DSU).
Kyle (K) – I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am the oldest of five kids in a blended family. Our house revolved around sports, dirt bikes, chores and Boy Scouts. In the summer I would live with my dad in Estes Park, Colorado, and work at a local go-kart track.
Brittney (B) – I am originally from Beulah, North Dakota. My dad worked for Basin Electric and my mom worked in the school system. I have an older brother and a younger sister. In high school I was active in band, drama and various activities at our church!

Leno Lifts the Weight with AccuPower Donation

A guy who has been a key member of the Ben C. Frank Human Performance Center since day one is Pete Leno. The center was added in 2000 and since then has really lifted the Blue Hawks in the athletic realm to a whole new level. The man behind the scenes of the acceleration program is Leno.

Dickinson State announces 2019 Outstanding Graduate nominees
Twenty students have been nominated for Dickinson State University’s (DSU) 2019 Outstanding Graduate Award. This award is the highest honor bestowed on graduating seniors by the University. The following students will be honored by the Dickinson State University Alumni Association at the Outstanding Graduate ceremony Friday, May 10, at 3 p.m. in the DSU Student Center Ballroom where the winner will be announced.

Bleeding Blue and Gray: The Kessel’s Unending Loyalty to DSU

For Erv and Marilyn Kessel, it seems that becoming part of the Dickinson State family was inevitable. Both being born and raised in Dickinson, they headed to DSTC after graduating from Dickinson High School in 1955. Erv majored in physical education with an English and social studies minor. Meanwhile, Marilyn stopped attending after two years to help put Erv through college when they got married.

Celebration of Scholars event highlights student research
Dickinson State held the annual Celebration of Scholars event Saturday, April 21, on the University’s campus. Celebration of Scholars is a conference where DSU students are encouraged to showcase and present their original, scholarly work either as a poster presentation, oral presentation, fine arts performance or fine arts display. Proposals for research are submitted by students throughout the year.
