The 16th Annual Theodore Roosevelt Symposium: Western Scenes, Western Friends, will take place Sept. 23-25 and will focus on Roosevelt’s western experiences. Due to COVID-19 concerns, it will be held virtually via Zoom.
The Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program students have been busy with start-of-semester events. On Sunday, Aug. 26, the thirteen new TR scholars gathered with their mentors to learn the ropes, share a meal, and play some cutthroat cornhole!
Dickinson State University (DSU) received approval at the Aug. 30, 2021, Institutional Actions Council of the Higher Learning Commission meeting to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA), making it the University’s third master’s program. It is set to begin online mid-October.
Jeb Williams ’97 has been appointed the director of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department! This DSU alumnus was a Blue Hawk wrestler and earned his bachelor’s in biology in 1997.
A native of Beach, ND, Jeb has worked for Game and Fish since 1999 and was named chief of the department’s Wildlife Division in 2014.
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department oversees permitting for hunting, fishing, and boating with 165 full-time workers and a biannual budget of $92 million.

Dickinson State University’s (DSU) 2021 Convocation was a success. Energy, sunshine, music, and food filled the Biesiot Activity Center Aug. 23, the first official day of classes.
In education, there is no time more exciting than the start of the school year. In the past week, we have welcomed back hundreds of returning DSU students and greeted hundreds more new Blue Hawks. The start of the school year brings both familiar comforts and exciting new opportunities.

The DSU Heritage Foundation has awarded Dickinson State University (DSU) students $1.1 million dollars in scholarships for the 2021-22 upcoming school year. Awards include merit-based, need-based, academic, leadership, athletic, and rodeo scholarships.
