Dr. Jeremy Wohletz, assistant professor of music at Dickinson State University, recently came back from the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors’ 2018 National Conference. This conference was held in conjunction with the 2018 National Conferences of the College Music Society (CMS) and the Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI) in Vancouver, BC.

This large music conference includes sessions on musicology, ethnomusicology, music technology, music theory, poster sessions and performances. Wohletz was invited to present a recital based on his dissertation research topic of gamelan-inspired music for clarinet. In addition to performing pieces, he also composed a piece for the recital and gave the world premiere.
