Several Dickinson-area teachers, including DSU alumni, joined Moberg at the NDCTE conference. Kevin Moberg, assistant professor of English and education at Dickinson State University (DSU), co-facilitated the annual conference of the North Dakota Council of Teachers of English (NDCTE) that took place Wednesday and Thursday, July 24 and 25, 2019, in Mandan, North Dakota.

Moberg serves as the College Representative on the NDCTE governing board. The board organizes the NDCTE conference for elementary and secondary teachers of English and for university students and faculty in teacher education.

Last fall, Moberg offered a professional development course at DSU for area teachers, leading a book study of a recent publication by English teacher and author Kelly Gallagher. Gallagher served as the keynote speaker at this year’s NDCTE conference.

In addition, Moberg served on the Content Advisory Committee (CAC) for the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. The CAC met in Bismarck Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, to review items to be used for the North Dakota State Assessment, which measures students’ achievement of the state’s K-12 education standards. Moberg provided input on the assessment for high school English language arts, ensuring alignment between the test questions and the standards.
