Meet Your New Director of Campus Life, Eric Holbrook2 min read

December 6, 2021

Last month, we announced that Eric Holbrook is your new Director of Campus Life. Now get to know a little about him!

Tell us a little about yourself, Eric.

I am from Priest River, Idaho. It is a small town in the northern part of the state, over 600 miles away from Dickinson. I played college basketball at Spokane Community College then transferred and played at Western Oregon University. After my college career, I wanted to get into coaching and was fortunate enough to coach at Spokane Community College for four years before becoming the graduate assistant here at Dickinson State University for the men’s basketball team. So, I am also a student here at DSU, one semester away from earning my master’s in athletic educational leadership.

What are some of your hobbies?

Some hobbies of mine are travelling, working out, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

Do you have any family in the area?

I do not have family in the area. Most of my family is in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.

What do you want students to know about your position?

I want students to know that I am here for them. My door is always open to any student. If there are ever any questions a student has about anything on campus, they can come to me. I may not be able to answer it, but I can point the student in the direction they need. I am here to make student life better on campus and that is my number one priority. I look forward to attending events on campus and getting to know more of the student population.

Do you have any advice for students?

The best advice I can give to students is build meaningful relationships while they are here. Not just with other students but with the faculty and staff on campus. Relationships made in college can last a lifetime and have a real impact on life after DSU. Also take your education seriously, education really can have a positive effect on your life.

Is there anything else you want students to know about you?

I look forward to having a bigger impact on DSU and campus overall.
